Todays topic: FOOD - mhhhhhhh

The stuff we eat :)

When christmas day arrives, each family got its own habbits and tradition, but what is more less the same in each family, is the food. 7 out of 10 got a soup for lunch. In my family it is a noodle soup with chicken. Some eat a lentis soup as well. In between you got the Stollen and cookies and at night you are eating a potatosalad, made out of twelve different things. Normally it is potato, meat salad, apple, mustard, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, cucumber, tomato, onion and two more things, which are not coming to my mind right now ;) To the salad you are eating any kind of sausage, if baked - fried - cooked or burned. In our family you get a christmas salad (lettuce, nuts, raisins...) straight after a main dish.
As you can see, the christmas meal is quite poor. For some rason it appeared to be like this, because some say, Jesus didn't have any to eat as well, so we should eat as he has done. But the next day ;) The next day you got a big, greasy, juicy still delicious goose. Dumplings and any veges are given to that meal. Wine or some similar you drink and in between it's the chocolate, cookies, marzipan, candy and Stollen again - all sorts ;) After christmas and this is a tradition, you wish, you wouldn't have had eaten that much ;) But anyway, that's what you think every year again - and with a small step on your weight - honestly you haven't lost any ;)

In two days it starts again.

PS: In the south of Dresden is a region where you eat nine things at christmas, it's called "Neunerlei" and is more less the same, what you know.
