Just the story of a small villiage in the saxon mountains, where all the christmas is coming from.
It was first mentioned in the early 13th century and crew steadily over the next decades. A huge mining industry was build. But as quick it was developed to huge richness and glory as quick it declined and disapeared totally in the region. Just the tradition were kept.
At the same time the mines were forced to close, the woodturners appear and replaced the work underground. A man called Christian
Friedrich Hiemann was the one who brought the success of woodturning to Seiffen. He once came back from a trade show in Leipzig. His pockets full with new orders for his craftmanswork.
But he not alone was able to fullfill all those orders, he also had to ask his colleagues and they all had to build new and modern machines. All that happened in the late 18th century.
Over the next 200 years new toys were made and produced for all kind of costumers all over the world. Today this small village is one of our tradtional christmas centers. The church in that place is the most famous christmas motive
and it's people the helpers of father chirstmas. The trade is also secured by hallmark of excellence, because of hundred chinese copies.
